ABOUT KORTRIJK
Prepare to be surprised.
KORTRIJK,
OUR WAY.
A small city with more to discover than you might expect.
Kortrijk is easy to love.
It’s compact enough to explore on foot, relaxed enough to take your time, and just big enough to keep surprising you.
Medieval streets meet contemporary architecture. The Leie runs through the city. There are independent shops, good coffee, interesting design, art, music and plenty of places to eat well.
We’ve lived here for years, so these are a few things we think are worth discovering.
DESIGN & ARCHITECTURE
Kortrijk has a surprisingly strong design scene.
The city is a UNESCO Creative City of Design, and you’ll notice it in the public spaces, architecture, exhibitions and events.
If you’re interested in design, architecture or contemporary culture, give yourself a little extra time here.
The leie
When the weather is good, head towards the river.
Walk along the Leie, sit on a terrace, rent a bike or simply find a spot by the water.
It’s one of the easiest ways to slow down for an hour or two.
Feeling adventurous? Try the easy to rent boats, Tankkd rafting, kayaks or stand-up paddles.
NEED A TIP?
Ask us.
We’d much rather recommend three places we genuinely like than give you a list of fifty.
Stay at OYO. Explore Kortrijk. Take your time.
start with the city centre
Just walk.
Start around the Beguinage and the Broel Towers, wander through the historic streets and follow the Leie towards the Buda island.
You’ll find beautiful old buildings alongside contemporary architecture, small shops, cafés and unexpected corners.
Don’t try to see everything.
Kortrijk is at its best when you leave some time to simply wander.
FOOD & COFFEE
This is where we can help.
There are plenty of good places to eat and drink within walking distance of OYO — from a quick coffee to a long dinner.
We’ve put together a few of our personal favourites here.

And if you’re here for Kortrijk Xpo, you’re only about five minutes away by car or bus.
So whether you’re here for a weekend, a business trip, an event or simply because you felt like getting away for a while, there’s plenty to do.
